Westfield Fishery

Westfield carp fishery is a mature 3 acre gravel pit in the quiet surroundings of Medmenham, just outside Marlow in Bucks.

It boasts a good head of carp with the current lake record being a 33lb 6oz Mirror named Warty.

Larger fish have been reported but no claims for the record have been forthcoming.

There are some original stock fish reaching ages of 25 years with a few crucian carp and tench for those that wish to seek them out.

For the hardened winter angler, there are also a number of double figure pike present.

The lake is restricted to a maximum of 8 anglers fishing 2 rods each and booking in advance is essential as no tickets are sold on the bank, details on  how to buy tickets are below.

Every swim has a feature, consisting of  gravel bars, overhanging trees, lilies, silt patches or weed beds and can be reached by car in order to off load.

The venue is very secure, set well back from the main road and gated with a combination coded padlock. This is supplemented with regular visits by our friendly and knowledgeable bailiff.

FISHERY RULES

• All anglers must have booked and paid in advance
• No leadcore leaders, fixed leads
• Micro barbed or barbless hooks only
• Rods must never be left unattended and a current EA licence to be held by the angler
• No fish to be retained in nets or sacks
• The use of appropriate unhooking mats is a must for all fish
• No boats, radios, guns, fires, picnics, swimming, drugs or heavy drinking. BARBECUES TO BE RAISED OFF THE GROUND
• No bait restrictions but all particle baits to be well prepared and used in moderation
• No taking or placing of fish to or from outside sources
• Pike fishing allowed between Oct 1st and  March 1st only
• Keep noise and other disturbance to an absolute minimum
• Take all litter with you, even if it’s not your own.
• All anglers to provide themselves with a soil bucket as there are no onsite toilets, all mess to be disposed of away from the site.
• Lifebouys are only to be used in the event of an emergency
• Adhere to the out of bounds rule within the fishery grounds
• All children under the age of 16 are to be accompanied by an adult at all times
• Bait boats can be used as longs as THEY DO NOT INTERFERE WITH OTHER ANGLERS and LINES ARE NOT TO BE DROPPED IN PLACES THAT CAN LEAD TO FISH BECOMING TETHERED.
