The quality of our trout fishing is famed throughout the South East. We have two lakes here at Blackwool Farm. They are stocked on a weekly basis with muscle bound Rainbows and Brown trout. The Rainbow record catch currently stands at 24lbs 9oz! Our facilities have been recently re-furbished to enhance your experience and make your visit a comfortable one. We are open all year round from 8.30am until dusk. Expert tuition is available on site and all rods, reels and flies are supplied. More experienced anglers will, of course, prefer to bring their own tackle and pit their wits against some of the hardest fighting trout imaginable. Activities that can be enjoyed here include clay pigeon shooting, archery, quad biking and ballooning. Of course, as we are one of Britain's leading trout fisheries, if you or any of your party would like to try your hand at landing a large trout, that can be arranged too. Our 19th Century Sussex barn has been converted into a delightful private dining room. We can seat up to 50 people at a time or cater for 60 people if you prefer a more casual buffet style meal. It's also a great place for a wedding reception. The barn is set in a large courtyard which provides an ideal place to lounge on a hot summer's day. When the weathers not so warm, what better sight than to see a whole lamb roasted on our huge open fireplace, perhaps enjoying the odd glass of malt while you wait for your meal. Our range of home-cooked menus offer a whole range of dishes. These range from simple ploughmans lunches to five course gourmet banquets, featuring favourites such as Poacher's Pot and Sussex Pond Pudding. The standard of food is quite simply, exceptional.
