Rock fishing for wrasse, pollack, coalfish, mackerel from Ballintoy. At Ballycastle strand, little turbot, codling, plaice, small coalfish and whiting. Best in autumn, on high tides. Spinning or float fishing for cod and pollack. Night fishing at ferry pier is recommended, using float tackle with ragworm, obtainable in town. Rathlin Island, just off the coast opposite Ballycastle, has wreck fishing for conger in Church Bay; and cod, coalfish, dogfish, plaice, pollack, turbot, haddock, ling, herring, conger eel, spurdog off Bull Point; big skate (200lb+) in Ballycastle Bay. Conger fishing on Loughgarry off Rhu Point.
