Afton reservoir is a 100 acre reservoir situated at the head of the Afton in the hills near New Cumnock. This reservoir has a head of natural Brown Trout and is also stocked with Brown Trout by New Cumnock Angling Association.

There are no vistor day tickets available but New Cumnock Angling Association Season Ticket is easily purchased and at £20 ( 2014) is about the same price as a day ticket for many waters.

There is a six fish take limit at Afton Reservoir but anglers are encouraged to catch and release if they don't really need to take fish.

There is a small car park at the end of teh road to the reservoir and then a fairly steep walk of around half a mile or so followed by a steeper walk up the side of the dam itself to reahc the reservoir.

This reservoir is therefore not best suited to disabled anglers. More information is available from New Cumnock Angling Association website.
